The first time I met Mike Baker, content strategy manager at InsightSquared, was at Boston Content's 2015 kickoff event: The Business of Content Creation. We were introduced by Jay Acunzo, who was helping search for a co-executive director to work alongside me and the committee to lead Boston Content.
Mike and I chatted briefly at the end of the event, among countless concurrent conversations, and tried our best to schedule time to meet amidst the excitement. After all, we had a lot to celebrate! Our first event of the year had been a huge success, we announced two new committee members and were all thrilled to be reunited with the community after a long winter break.
Two days later, Mike and I met at Caffe Nero to discuss the future of Boston Content — though, for me, the meeting was mostly a formality. After all, I knew from our first conversation he was what our leadership team needed: Someone who is the complete and total opposite of me (in all the best ways, as my mother would say).
We needed someone methodical, inquisitive, focused and patient. We needed someone with a unique perspective — one different from both myself and the rest of the committee — to ensure we are representing the diversity of our membership. Most importantly, we needed someone who cares about Boston Content’s mission and community as much as we do.
Mike possesses all of these thing and more, which is why I am thrilled to announce he has agreed to join me as co-executive director of Boston Content.
We’ve already accomplished a lot!
- New programming, including "Field Day,” a collaborative workday led by founding committee member Trisha Antonsen. (Details on the way!)

- Our Job Board, which features a curated list of new opportunities in the Boston marketing community.
- Plus so much more we can't wait to share with you.
Please join me in welcoming Mike to the Boston Content family. I couldn’t be happier to have him on board and can’t wait to reveal what else is in store for you in 2015!
